Keeping Your Website Up To Date

Perhaps you’ve found a web designer that you’re very happy with. They’ve done a fantastic job creating your website. Six months later you change your PO Box, add a new product line, or want to announce your new location on your site. You call your designer and they’d be happy to help but it will be three or four weeks before they can get to it!

You need to plan ahead of time to make sure someone is always available to update your website. Perhaps you have a designer who will take care of it in a timely matter. Just make sure you communicate your needs with them in advance. Another option is to find a “virtual assistant” with the necessary technical skills who can help you maintain the content on your site. You can also update your own website. Talk to your designer about areas that might need to be frequently changed, perhaps a calendar of events or links page. They can design areas that allow for simple updates without having too much technical know-how.
